We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death. / And by this we will know that we belong to the truth, and will assure our hearts in His presence:

There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love.
