Proverbs 23:1–3, 6–8
When you sit down to dine with a ruler, consider carefully what is set before you, / and put a knife to your throat if you possess a great appetite. / Do not crave his delicacies, for that food is deceptive.
Proverbs 25:6, 7, 17
Do not exalt yourself in the presence of the king, and do not stand in the place of great men; / for it is better that he says to you, “Come up here!” than that you should be demoted in the presence of the prince. Even what you have seen with your own eyes, / Seldom set foot in your neighbor’s house, lest he grow weary and hate you.
Luke 10:5–7
Whatever house you enter, begin by saying, ‘Peace to this house.’ / If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. / Stay at the same house, eating and drinking whatever you are offered. For the worker is worthy of his wages. Do not move around from house to house.
Luke 14:7–11
When Jesus noticed how the guests chose the places of honor, He told them a parable: / “When you are invited to a wedding banquet, do not sit in the place of honor, in case someone more distinguished than you has been invited. / Then the host who invited both of you will come and tell you, ‘Give this man your seat.’ And in humiliation, you will have to take the last place.

If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat anything set before you without raising questions of conscience.
